Mr Calin Alexandru Hopsitar is a clinical psychologist, registered with the Health and Care
Professions Council, UK, since May 2021. Mr Hopsitar has been a clinical psychologist and trained
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapist) therapist since 2017, when he obtained his professional

in Psychology, and a Master degree in Clinical Psychology and CBT, from Babes-Bolyai University.
In addition to that he graduated with distinction from King’s College London, with a Master of
Science in Neuroscience.
In his professional career, Mr Hopsitar has developed a particular interest in the intersection
between clinical psychology and developmental psychology, considering in his practice the
pivotal role that the process of development has on the clinical presentations, individuals
experience in their life. He has gained extensive experience with a wide range of populations,
working with children, adolescents and adults. His career entails experience working in a variety
of settings, like acute inpatient units in the UK or out-patient settings, where he has undertaken
assessments of complex mental health presentations, developed case formulations, as well as
created and implemented care plans and treatment plans for various mental health
presentations, like: depression, personality disorder, PTSD or C-PTSD, obsessive-compulsive
disorders, anxiety, self-harming behaviours, addictions.
Given his wide clinical experience and coming across a variety of clinical presentations, Mr
Hopsitar developed an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, considering as extremely
important the tailoring of any psychological intervention, to the specific needs of individuals with
ASD (autism spectrum disorder), ADHD, or other unspecified diagnosed neurodevelopmental
condition. Thus, he became a trained professional in the assessment of ASD, in children,
adolescents and adults.
As of 2021, Mr Hopsitar has started to undertake instructions as an expert witness, acting as an
expert mainly in the family court, and expanding into the immigration law/asylum seeking cases.
His appointments entailed using his expertise to determine the nature of family dynamics, the
impact these dynamics have on the member’s mental health and ongoing difficulties, as well as
determining the presence, severity, prognosis of any existing mental health diagnostics, and the
existing treatment alternatives. In addition to that, Mr Hopsitar undertakes instructions entailing
