How It Works
- Search & Selection: Clients may search for experts via specialty, discipline, region, or specific expertise. Each expert’s profile sets out their qualifications, fee structure and time lines, scope of expertise.
- Initial Enquiry: Once a potential expert is identified, an initial enquiry may be made via the Gateway to confirm availability, scope, estimated fees, and suitability for the particular legal matter.
- Instruction & Engagement: After selection, the instructing party engages the expert directly under agreed terms (including fee, scope, timing, confidentiality). The expert then carries out the work: report preparation, participation in conferences or meetings, and if needed giving evidence in court or tribunal settings.
- Quality, Compliance & Independence: All experts listed agree to abide by professional and ethical standards, maintain strict independence, and comply with the procedural rules governing expert evidence (e.g. accreditation, disclosure obligations, duty to the court). The Gateway does not supplant the professional judgment of the expert or the solicitor, but acts as a facilitative reference point.
