Norman Cowan

As a newly qualified Chartered Accountant, Norman joined Coopers & Lybrand, later working in commerce in the USA. Upon returning he joined a leading City insolvency firm and in 1979 went on to form his own practice, shortly after took Insolvency appointments.

He merged his practice in December 2000 with a West End London firm, heading up its Business Recovery and Forensic Accountancy Department.

In 2017 he joined CRG Forensics as a consultant specialising in criminal defence and commercial disputes.

Publications

Apart from writing numerous articles concerning financial and forensic accountancy matters, Norman is one of the contributors to a published book called “Forensic Accounting and Finance, Principles and Practice”, contributing a chapter on Insolvency.

Norman has written professional articles and lectured at insolvency conferences both in the UK and Europe. He has also given Radio interviews on numerous occasions.

Forensic Accounting Experience

Norman has diverse experience with a challenging range of cases, with matters covering civil and criminal matters. He has given evidence in Court as well at Tribunals, and prides himself in keeping to strict timetables and writing reports that are understandable.

He has received a challenging range of forensic accounting instructions from not only solicitors but HMRC, a Greater London Borough and the Department for Business Innovation & Skills.
