My specialist clinical interest is surgery of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder and biliary tree, in particular laparoscopic liver, pancreatic and biliary surgery. I look after patients with benign and malignant disease. My clinical activities include laparoscopic cholecystectomy, bile duct exploration, splenectomy, laparoscopic liver and pancreatic surgery and management of complex biliary injuries. I am trained in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). In addition, I undertake emergency general surgery and day case surgery, including hernia repair procedures.
I have published widely in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks, particularly in the area of hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease.

Medico-legal work
I prepare approximately 50 mediolegal reports per year. 60% claimant, 40% defence. I have attended Core and advance clinical negligence training sessions provided by Premex and Bond Solon. I have completed the CertMR course.
I am listed in the Register of Expert Witnesses and the Expert Witness Directory, I am a vetted 1st tier APIL expert and a member of the Expert Witness Institute.
