Dr Ghaly has been a member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine and acted as an Expert Witness in various complex medico legal cases. He can act on behalf of either claimant or defendant or as a Single Joint Expert.
Recently Dr Ghaly has successfully provided an expert report to the court on behalf of the defendant, an NHS Trust in London, regarding an alleged failed Implanon contraceptive device. The judgement was in favour of his client. Such cases were traditionally settled out of court with hospitals paying substantial amounts of money unnecessarily.
