The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the formation of scientific method validation design strategies for the forensic investigation of collisions. The successful candidate will advise best practice and assist in the creation of standard operating procedures in relation to CCTV and digital video analysis and vehicle speed analysis.
Salary: £43,254-£46,437 p/a
Location: Remote working – with the requirement to travel throughout the UK when necessary.
Hours: Monday-Friday, office hours (37 hours p/week, flexible start and finish times)
Duration: Permanent
Key Responsibilities Include:
- The design and document experimentation procedures that adhere to scientific methods and professional standards.
- Enable the FCIN to fulfil the technical requirements for police-delivered forensic collision investigation, through the application of method validation.
- In conjunction with the FCIN Science Manager, investigate, manage, and resolve nonconformities in line with FCIN policy. Proactively seek improvements to service delivery and maintain a cycle of continuous internal review and improvement.
- Maintain a high standard of technical competence in Forensic Collision Investigation and ensure innovative methods and practices are identified and employed within the FCIN.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of International and National standards providing science related advice on ISO, UKAS, ILAC and FSR standards, regulations, and associated requirements.
- Ensure continual improvement, good professional practice, and appropriate levels of quality in all the FCIN’s collision science forensic activities.
Key Requirements and Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in managing scientific projects
- Understand scientific project requirements, coordinate with FCIN resources, and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the practical application of forensic collision science
- LEVA certification is advantageous
- Prior use and knowledge of software including Amped FIVE / iNPUT-Ace / Axon Investigate is advantageous
- Must hold driving license

You will be responsible for assisting in the formation of scientific method validation design strategies, ensuring adherence to them and supported by a plan.

Responsibilities:
- You would be responsible for building scientific tests for vehicles, writing the methodology and best practise for these tests, for FCI’s to go out and do this. You would then be upskilling forces across the UK to perform these tests.
Key Requirements and Skills:
- Experience of inspection of all forms of collision-involved vehicles for mechanical/electrical condition.
- Analysis of digital data from vehicles such as digital tachographs, event data recorders, ADAS, DTCs.

You will be responsible for providing specialist advice and guidance on Information Management and Data Protection.
Salary: £38,856-£42,207 p/annum
Location: Remote working, with the requirement to travel when necessary
Hours: Monday-Friday, 37 hours p/week

Responsibilities:
- Ensure FCIN complies with Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation, Security Policies of IT Systems, and associated legislation
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of appropriate training and awareness initiatives on FCIN information security issues, procedures
- Provide guidance and advice, including pro-active liaison to identify/assess problems, queries, procedures, and practice, when required, to all FCIN in relation to the handling of data and Information Security.
- Perform an audit role to ensure that information security is maintained through the preservation of confidentiality, integrity and availability of Force Information Systems and data held thereon, in accordance with relevant Security Policies and Legislation.
Key Experience and Skills required:
- HNC/D or degree in Information Management, Data Protection, and Information Security or equivalent or an equivalent amount of proven relevant experience in these specialisms.
- Working knowledge of Information Technology to enable the performance of an audit function in relation to the security of data.

Lead the successful delivery of the programme and ensure that all workstreams/projects within the programme are managed and resourced effectively.
Salary: £51,306-£56,835
Location: Remote working (with the requirement to travel to North Wales and Cranfield University)
Duration: Permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday, full-time (flexi-time available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and designing the programme and programme plan and pro-actively monitoring its overall progress against the programme plan, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
- Work with the Business Manager to plan and manage the programme’s budget on behalf of the Head of FCIN.
- To ensure effective communication and engagement relating to Programme implementation and fostering excellent working relationship. Working closely with key programme stakeholders including relevant staff associations and to liaise with appointed programme assurance roles to ensure the overall direction and integrity of the programme.
Main Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience of managing multiple projects using recognised programme and project methodology which should include knowledge of process mapping, service modelling, dependencies and critical path assessment/analysis, identification or risk and issues.
- Experience at a managerial level with responsibility of budget management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice and specialist information to the end users and system owners, resolving issues raised and identifying and managing risks around data quality and system integrity with users, management and third party providers.
Salary: £31,434–£33,348

Responsibilities:
- On a regular basis engage with system users to understand how the system is performing, and how the system can be improved.
- To work closely with the suppliers in developing a system fit for purpose.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the performance and availability of the national systems, resolving any issues and outages in a timely manner.
- To develop operating training guides and user policies and procedures to ensure the effective use and security of systems.
Key Requirements and Skills:
- You should be qualified Computer Science or a closely related subject (Level 4 or Level 5 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework) or equivalent experience of system architecture, management, configuration and systems performance.
- Experience as a system administrator or system officer.
- Detailed technical knowledge of interfaces with external, associated systems.
- Previous experience of working with ICT systems supporting a large organisation
